The days are getting hot, and with the start of summer, our bakers begin making pastries for summer.
Local blueberries are in season, and our pastry bakers have begun their annual blueberry pastries: blueberry pies, blueberry scones, blueberry-strawberry shortcakes (now made with sprouted wheat biscuits!), blueberry-lemon tarts, and blueberry-lemon quick breads. They’ll also be putting those fresh local blueberries in the blueberry muffins, blueberry danish, blueberry cheese danish, and blueberry brioche coffeecakes, which they make year-round. The local blueberries will be organic when available.
Nothing says summer like lemonade, and the pink lemonade whoopie pie is back! We also make key lime pies through the end of summer. Lemon meringue pies are around for another month as well.
Strawberry season is winding down. We’re hoping to keep making all our favorite strawberry pastries through mid-June, so get them while you can.
