Weaver Street Market is happy to be the new co-sponsor, with the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA), of the Eastern Triangle Farm Tour! The tour is September 23 and 24 this year, with farms open from 1 to 5 PM. Buttons are now on sale in our stores! You can also purchase them online.
Not to be confused with the Piedmont Farm Tour, which occurs in April, the Eastern Triangle Farm Tour includes 26 farms located in Person, Durham, Granville, Franklin, and Wake Counties. Visitors can learn about urban gardening, see egg and mushroom production, meet cows and pigs, and see honey bees in action. There’s an alpaca farm, a yogurt creamery, a wooded sanctuary, and more.
Want to plan your trip? Brochures with a map of the farms and directions are in stores, or download a PDF here. Or, use CFSA’s interactive map, here.
One button enables a carload (or a group of bicyclists) to visit all the farms. A button costs $35 on the day of the tour but only $30 in advance. Proceeds benefit CFSA, a network based in Pittsboro of individuals interested in a vibrant, sustainable food system that is good for consumers, good for farmers and farmworkers, and good for the land.
