Nothing says fall like “maple,” “pumpkin,” and “crock-pot.” Serve this applesauce warm to welcome someone in from the cold. From our Demo Coordinator, Lisa Woodward.
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs. gala apples, cored and cut into quarters
- 1/2 c. maple syrup
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- ½ tsp. allspice
- 1 can Farmer’s Market organic pumpkin
Directions:
1) Place all items except pumpkin in a crock-pot.
2) Cook, on low, for 5 hours.
3) Remove cinnamon sticks and stir in pumpkin and allspice.
4) Cook about 20 minutes longer.
Serve warm or place in airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days.
