What Kind of Pie are You? What comes to mind when pie is mentioned? 1. The mud filled concoctions you mix in the backyard, 2. The number 3.14159, 3. Flakey, buttery crust filled with sweet goodness? If you chose number one, you probably need to ask permission before having a slice of pie. If number two was the number for you, then you need to put down the calculator and have some pie. If number 3 is your answer, you are one lucky dog 'cause the Weaver Street Market pastry bakers have been busy thinking about answer number three as well, and have decided to offer you a month of PIE! On the Weaver Street Market lawn in Carrboro, 6-8 pmAfter Hours is back and hotter than ever! Come prepared for picnicking, dancing, wine or beer tasting, and lots of fun! Local charitable groups will once again be providing freshly grilled picnic fare to purchase. Or choose from an expanded array of Hot Bar meals made daily in our very own kitchen. Weaver Street Market loves to see people enjoying our lawn and connecting with their community. To keep this event a safe and fun place, we ask that you only bring friendly, well-behaved dogs on leashes and please clean up after them. We want the children who attend our event to have a safe and happy time too, so we ask that they not be allowed to climb the trees, including the Crepe Myrtles. Lastly, please enjoy the fountain from its perimeter. Thank you for your help in making this event safe and fun for everyone. July 6 - The Guilty Pleasures - traditional American music July 13 - Armand & Bluesology - house rockin' music July 20 - The Tim Smith Band - original Jamaican style Ska & Reggae July 27 - Carolina Caterwaulers - breakdowns, hoedowns & songs of the South After Hours & the ALE Regulations We know how much fun it is to sit on the lawn and drink some beers, but unfortunately North Carolina law forbids Weaver Street Market from selling six packs for consumption outside. You can buy beer by the glass outside at the tasting table, singles, or half-gallon Growlers from Carolina Brewery, but please—be kind to our cashiers and don't buy a six pack to take outside. The Piedmont Biofuels Co-op is Cooking at After Hours this Week Piedmont Biofuels is a worker and member owned cooperative. Our mission is to lead the grassroots sustainability movement in North Carolina by using and encouraging the use of clean, renewable biofuels. We are involved in a wide variety of undertakings in support of this mission: * We provide pure biodiesel (B100) to the community. * We provide a space where worker members can make their own fuel from waste vegetable oil. * We have a USDA Research Farm where we do oilseed crop research. * We have an elaborate glycerin composting facility. * We do education and outreach on both biodiesel and engine modifications that enable people to use straight vegetable oil (SVO) as fuel. * We lobby the North Carolina legislature, as well as our national representatives, on behalf of biodiesel and alternative fuels. * We have an intern program that allows people to live on site and learn about all facets of our operations. We offer free public tours of the co-op every Sunday at 1pm. The co-op is located about 5 miles down the Moncure-Pittsboro Rd, just south of Pittsboro, NC. Detailed directions are available on our website. For more information about Piedmont Biofuels Cooperative please visit our website at www.biofuels.coop Can't get to After Hours?
