(June Co-op Advantage Special: Nasoya Firm/Extra Firm Tofu, on sale: $1.99/14oz reg. $2.59) DIRECTIONS: 1. Thaw the frozen dough as instructed on the WSM label, and prepare the grill for high heat. 2. Cut pizza dough in half, and roll out thin to fit the grill shape, make them no more than 1/4 inch thick. Place dough in a well-oiled bowl, and cover with a damp cloth. You can also dust a baking sheet, or a plate with flour or cornmeal for easy transport, so the dough won't stick. (You can stack the rounds by layering waxed paper, parchment, or a clean well-floured kitchen towel in between the individual crusts.) 3. Precook the toppings (you can't grill it long enough to cook them on the pizza). Also have a shredded cheese ready to speed up the melting process. 4. When the coals are hot, have all of your toppings ready near the grill. Make sure you knock your coals down so it cooks on a lower heat, and evenly. Spray the grill with a little oil, before putting crust on. 5. After two to three minutes, give it a little tug-it should move easily with tongs or a spatula. If it sticks, give it another minute or so, and then remove it from the heat and transfer it to a plate or peel; flip it over so the "done" side is up, then add the toppings. 6. Return it back on the grill, close the lid, and cook until the cheese melts. P.S. You may also turn your pizza into a calzone easily by folding the dough, wrapping it in aluminum foil and grilling for 3-5 minutes on each side. |

Look for fresh veggies, flowers, eggs, meat, and more!Carrboro Farmers' Market - As farmers markets around the country get ready for the summer months, Care2.com is proud to announce a new online contest called "Love Your Farmers Market". Care2.com is partnering with LocalHarvest.org to raise awareness of local foods, family farms, and community farmers markets and to reward America's favorite farmers market through this fun, summer-long contest. Care2 will award $5,000 to the farmers market that receives the most votes. Currently, the Durham Farmers' Market is in first place, and our very own Carrboro Farmers' Market is second! If the Carrboro Farmers' Market can win the $5000 prize, one of the things it would like to do is buy an EBT machine so that people on food stamps would be able to purchase food at the Farmers' Market. Follow the link below to vote for your favorite farmers' market. Together we can make a difference. |

| Adopt a Puffin! | |||
Want to help Weaver Street Market adopt a puffin? Barbara's Bakery, makers of Puffin's cereal, coordinates a puffin adoption program through the assistance of the Audubon Society, and Weaver Street Market is pooling our collective cereal-eating resources to adopt our own. Pick out your favorite Puffins cereal—Original, Cinnamon, Peanut Butter or Honey Rice—and start munching to help us contribute to the preservation of the puffins' habitat and help fund ongoing research. Look for the bins at the front of our stores later this week where you can deposit your box tops. Be sure to drop off the actual box top, not the UPC, as we only can get credit for one or the other. Once we've collected 250, we'll send them in and adopt our own! |

Staycation Destination: Bennett Placeby Emily Buehler, Contributing Writer This spring a friend visited me with three children, ages 12, 12, and 7. I arrived home from work to find the kids in new t-shirts and waving Constitution-like papers in the air. "What did you guys do today?" I asked. "We went to Bennett Place!" they replied with enthusiasm. Bennett Place? Wasn't that the boring old farmhouse on ugly highway 70 in Durham? Why were they so excited? As it turns out, Bennett Place isn't boring at all. Without giving away all the excitement, here's a brief overview, straight from the visitors themselves: Read more here. |
