Wine and Steak!
This week Weaver Street Market showcases a classic combo: wine and steak. It's the combination of the tannins in red wine with the protein in the steak that make it such a delicious pairing.

Thomas Henry Meritage is on sale this week for $9.99/750 ml. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, this red is dark, rich and smooth. Perfect to pair with a grass-fed NY Strip steak also on sale this week for $14.99/lb.
Ice Cream Cones
It is the belief of many children (and some adults) that ice cream tastes better when it's on a cone. And providing a family with ice cream cones doesn't have to break the bank, especially in June, when Let's Do Organic Ice Cream Cones are on sale!

Bring home a box of cones and a tub of ice cream, and surprise your family with ice cream cones on your own back porch. Or pack a scooper on Thursday night and be the envy of After Hours as you lounge on the Weaver Street lawn, cones in hand. Weaver Street Market sells a variety of frozen treats, from ice cream to gelato to sorbet to dairy-free 'frozen desserts'—everything you need for a special summer treat!

On Sale in June:
Let's Do Organic Ice Cream Cones, $1.99-$2.79 (12 cones)
Julie's Organic Ice Cream, 16 oz, $2.79
So Delicious Organic Dairy-free Dessert, 32 oz, $3.99 (Carrboro and Hillsborough only)

Art in Panzanella

"Layers"
Oil paintings by Cat Moleski
June 15 - August 16, 2010
Please join us for the Artist's Reception:
Monday, June 21, 5:30-7:30 pm

Capturing scenes of daily life, Cat Moleski's lush colors, and impressionistic style transform these moments into dream-like vignettes. Images both real and surreal take on new meaning as layer upon layer of paint and color coalesce, contrast, and enliven the scenes. Some figures are true to form, some are distorted but all are representative of the constant conflict between perception and reality.

Cat Moleski has been painting in oils for over twenty years. She received her BFA from Alfred University in upstate New York. She has spent two residencies at the Vermont Studio Center. You may view more of her work at her website.

Please join us at Panzanella for Cat's reception on Monday, June 21st, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Panzanella's artist receptions are informal, fun gatherings of local art lovers. Enjoy this opportunity to meet the artist, and get a closer look at the artwork. Light hors d oeuvre will be served, and our full bar will be open. The reception is free and open to the public.

Perry-winkle Farm Dinner

Monday, June 28
5:30 - 9:00 pm
Every summer Panzanella celebrates the bounty of delicious foods from our local farmers with our series of Farm Dinners. On June 28th, Chef Jim Nixon creates a special menu with freshly harvested, delicious ingredients from Perry-winkle Farm. And throughout the month, we will be featuring Perry-winkle Farm's fantastic potatoes.

Cathy Jones and Mike Perry have been farming organically in northern Chatham County since 1990. Sustainable practices such as cover crops, crop rotation, and biodiversity help keep pests and diseases in check and enhance crop quality. You can meet Cathy and Mike and treat yourself to their fantastic foods and flowers by shopping at the Carrboro Farmers' Market on Saturdays, 7:00 am. until noon and Wednesdays, 3:30-6:30 pm.
