Tabling with Transplanting Traditions
September 2, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
FreeLook for the teens of Transplanting Traditions Community Farm outside our Carrboro store. They’ll be sharing a bit of what the farm produces. Transplanting Traditions works with refugees from Burma, enabling them to preserve their farming traditions, afford healthy and culturally sensitive food, and give back to the refugee community. The farm received a 2017 Cooperative Community Fund grant to build a commercial vegetable processing station at the farm.
Sign up to attend a community workday. We’ll have a tour and learn about the farm, and then help complete major farm projects alongside community members and farmers: painting a new barn, mulching pathways, and weeding. The workday happens on Saturday, September 23, from 9 to 1 PM.
