Everyone loves freshly homemade turkey gravy, but not all of us have the time (or the inclination) to make the fresh turkey stock needed to make a truly flavorful gravy. Luckily we’ve taken that step out for you with Weaver Street Market’s turkey stock. The stock is made with turkey and organic vegetables just like you would use at home, then slow-cooked for 16 hours to bring out all that flavor and goodness. Look for the turkey stock in the freezer case in the meat department.
Ingredients:
- ½ c. butter
- ½ c. all-purpose flour
- 1 quart WSM turkey stock
- Defatted pan drippings from roasted turkey
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions:
1) Warm turkey stock in a saucepan and set aside.
2) Melt butter in a separate large saucepan. Slowly add ½ cup flour, whisking constantly.
3) When butter is incorporated, slowly add broth to saucepan. Add defatted pan drippings and a few grinds of black pepper.
4) Bring to a simmer. Cook on medium heat until gravy thickens to desired consistency. Taste gravy and add salt if needed.
5) Keep warm on low until ready to serve.
