Every December, shoppers make an automatic donation to HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS by buying specially marked gift items. Part of the purchase price of these items goes to the Hope for the Holidays Fund, which has recently been rolled into the collections for our larger Cooperative Community Fund (CCF). The CCF
funds grants to local groups working in hunger and nutrition, environmental protection, and farming issues. Learn more about our CCF and how your nonprofit organization can apply for a grant by clicking here.

peacestachios.jpgCustomers contribute to the CCF both through their purchases and direct donations. Holiday shoppers in 2011 raised more than $5,500 through purchases of Hope for the Holidays products. For 11 years the Hope for the Holidays fund-raiser has successfully encouraged shoppers to purchase items that automatically make a charitable donation of
$0.50 or $1.00. In 2011, a new item—Snowhill Tileworks Coffee Cups—flew off the shelves with 287 sold. Shoppers filled their holiday carts with longtime seasonal favorites, including 1,428 loaves of WSM Holiday Quick Breads, 811 loaves of WSM Bakery’s famous Stollen, and 829 pounds of organic ‘Peace’stachios. Chocolate was the top draw for holiday shoppers, who bought 1,876 bars of Equal Exchange Organic Chocolate.
