INGREDIENTS: • 5 cups peeled, sliced local apples • 2 tbsp flour • 1/4 cup brown sugar • 1/2 tsp cinnamon Topping: • 1/2 cup brown sugar • 1/2 cup rolled oats • 1/2 cup flour 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp nutmeg 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted 1/2 cup Chapel Hill Toffee bits
DIRECTIONS: 1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a deep pie plate or 9x9 inch baking pan. 2.In a bowl toss the sliced apples with the flour, sugar and spice. Spread into prepared dish. 3.In a separate bowl mix all of the ingredients until crumbly, adding the toffee bits last. Sprinkle evenly over the apples. 4.Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until browned and apples are tender. Serve alone or with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or a drizzling of real cream. 5.Makes enough for 4 to 6 people. Enjoy!
