Shrimp in Beer-batter


INGREDIENTS:
• 2 lbs. shrimp
• 1 c. sifted flour
• 1/2 tsp. sugar
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 dash pepper] 
• 1 dash nutmeg
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1 c. beer
• Cooking oil for frying


DIRECTIONS:

1. Work the above ingredients, except for the shrimp, into a beer batter.
3. Cut almost through shrimp at the center back without cutting ends.
4. Dry shrimp and dip into beer batter.
5. Fry in deep, hot fat until golden brown, drain, serve at once.
