The organization presents many events throughout the year\, and most of them are free to attend. You can see a list of all upcoming events here.” \nFrom Triangle on the Cheap. \nOwls! An exciting evening walk at Johnston Mill Nature Preserve to learn about these magnificent animals that we so rarely get to see during the day. Listen for owl calls and coyotes’ howls. Search by ear as well as sight for some of the night’s early risers. Also turn logs and search for frogs and salamanders. \nThe gentle evening hike is open to families with children ages 5 and up. We will hike out as it starts getting dusky and return to the parking lot at Turkey Farm Road before sunset. \nPlease wear closed-toed shoes. Bug-spray is recommended.
