DESCRIPTION:Join us for a celebration of all things apple on our Carrboro Lawn on September 26th from 11am to 1pm! Free to all! \nWE WILL HAVE: \n\nNC Apple Tastings:  We will have Farmer Foodshare and Happy Dirt sampling a variety of NC apples\nApple-Based Product Samplings: Products from Firsthand Foods\, Big Spoon Nut Butters\, JP’s Pastry\, Delight Soy\, Cabot Cheese\, Ashe County Cheese\, Apple Wedge Cider\, The Republic of Tea\, and Weaver Street Market will be sampled!\nCider Tent: Visit with and taste local hard ciders from Potter’s Craft & Stardust\nKid’s Activities: Join us for apple prints and other apple-based activities!\nAND our Pie Baking Contest!  See information below!\n\nJoin our Pie Baking Contest! Drop off your pie on the 26th between 10am to 10:30am.  Pies will be judged throughout the event\, and a winner will be selected by the end of the end of the day. You do not have to be present to win.  The winner will be notified by email or phone. \n\nPlease plan to bring an ingredient list with you when you drop off your pie! \nContest Rules:\n• Pie/Dessert must contain apples.\n• One pie/dessert entry per person.\n• All pies/desserts must be made by hand. No store-bought pies.\n• All pies/desserts must be in a 9-inch pie plate/pan.\n• No pies/desserts requiring refrigeration (dairy-based\, cream or meat).\n• Non-edible materials are not permitted. \n**Professional bakers may not enter the contest.
