DESCRIPTION:Join us Wednesday\, March 24\, 5-6pm \nWe welcome Steve Tate\, the retired co-founder of Goat Lady Dairy. In 1984\, his sister Ginnie Tate moved with her two pet Nubian goats to an abandoned tobacco farm in Randolph County\, NC. Neighbors quickly nicknamed her The Goat Lady. In 1995 Steve and his wife Lee joined Ginnie to start a goat cheese dairy farm. A pioneer in the Local Food Movement in NC\, the dairy grew to become one of the largest artisan cheese dairies in the South. Goat Lady makes both goat and cow milk cheeses\, partnering with three local dairy farms. Their fresh\, ripened\, and aged cheeses have won numerous awards\, including the American Cheese Society\, Good Food Awards\, and the Our State Magazine 2020 Made in NC Award. \nLearn more and purchase tickets here.
