DESCRIPTION:A Walk for Hunger brings together dedicated citizens from congregations\, community groups\, and area businesses\, with a common goal–fighting hunger in this community. OCIM (one of our Community Food Partners) sponsors the event and would love to have you be a part of it! Proceeds from the walk support the OCIM Food Pantry and the Meals on Wheels Ministry. \nPlease join OCIM’s Walk for Hunger to help fight hunger in northern Orange County. The walk begins at Mount Bright Missionary Baptist Church at 211 W. Union Street in Hillsborough. Registration begins at 1 PM\, and the walk begins at 2 PM. Participants will walk through town and return to the church. \nThis year\, organizers encourage young people to participate. They bring energy and fun to the event! Youth groups are encouraged to participate in the Youth Group Challenge\, with awards for the biggest fundraisers. \nProceeds benefit the OCIM Samaritan Relief Ministry\, which in 2018 served over 2400 school children in Orange County.
