Mark Hofmann and his family run Troller Point Fisheries in Alaska. They have produced hook-and-line caught wild Alaskan salmon, halibut, and black cod since the early 1990s. Every summer they travel Alaska’s coast on their 52-foot boat, the F/V Ocean Oasis, chasing after the ocean’s bounty.
Mark shares this about their operation: “Alaska has managed its fisheries to be the envy of the world for sustainability. Although hook-and-line fishing is a time consuming process, it produces the very finest quality. We are lucky enough to make a living in arguably one of the most beautiful, wild places on earth. Kyle and April, our children, have experienced the beauty and power of nature over their many summers on our boat.”
Look for various offerings from Troller Point in our stores, in particular the arrival of their coho salmon in late fall, salmon with firm, bright orange flesh and loads of omega-3 oils. Wild Alaskan seafood is rich in flavor and nutrients.
