Carrboro Fourth of July Kickoff
Kick off Carrboro’s July 4th celebration on our lawn with music and fun! We’ll have live music by Tim Stambaugh and Friends, a patriotic costume contest, bike/wagon decorating booths, and more. It's our annual celebration of wiener dogs! Bring your little buddy to the lawn in Carrboro for an afternoon of games, costumes, contests, and fun, or come to watch as dozens of wiener dogs march in a parade and compete in a hurdling contest and bobbing for wieners. Recipe Makeover
Stop by the Carrboro store to visit our Demo Team, who will be sampling healthy foods that resulted from their Recipe Makeover. They chose several family favorites that were not-so-healthy and found new ways to prepare them. They've perfected protein-rich pancakes made with almond flour and flaxmeal (recipe here). The rest of the menu tentatively includes chicken sausage, pizza pies, and "fried" chicken.

Meet the Wine Maker
Stop by our Carrboro store to sample Riojana wines and cheese and to meet Walter and Rodolfo from La Riojana winery in Argentina. This cooperative winery now includes 500 growers, most of whom are small-scale, rural farmers. The grapes are farmed organically, and the wines are certified fair trade. In addition to fair prices, the growers benefit from a fair-trade premium that is used for social and economic development projects in the community. Learn more about the winery here.
