Pan de Los Muertos – a traditional Mexican bread for Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) It’s a sweet dough with anise seed and orange zest, shaped by hand into a skull and crossbones.
● The idea for this bread originated with Mauricio and Guillermo Martinez bread bakers who have worked at Weaver Street Market for 13 and 16 years.
● Inspired by the bread their father baked out of a wood-fired oven in Oaxaca.
● Offered every fall, our version is an attempt to honor this tradition.
Bring it Back Jar – similar to our milk bottles return program we plan to start our Bring it Back Jar program.
● This winter we will package dried fruits and nuts in Bring it Back Jars.
● It will reduce single-use packing.
● There will be a bottle deposit built into the price.
● Customers can return the jars and lids at checkout and receive their jar deposit back.
