Come be a part of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Juneteenth Celebration! Celebrate Black community and culture with music, dancing, Black business fair, non-profit expos, kids activities, food trucks, and more on Saturday, June 17 from 10 am – 3 pm at the Hargraves Community Center at 216 N. Roberson Street, Chapel Hill. Start the day with a dedication ceremony for the new Hargraves Historic Marker. Juneteenth is the oldest known commemoration of the abolition of slavery in the United States. A combination of the words “June” and “nineteenth,” Juneteenth is a U.S. federal holiday observed on June 19.
