Canola Oil is Being Replaced with Non‑GMO Avocado Oil
Weaver Street Market is pleased to share an important update regarding the oils our kitchens use as an ingredient and in cooking our house-made foods. After nearly two years of research, testing, and sourcing, we are transitioning away from canola oil and moving to avocado oil.* Olive oil will continue to be used in many of our recipes.

The avocado oil selected is GMO‑free and expeller‑pressed, with a mild, neutral flavor that integrates seamlessly into the foods our community enjoys. It provides clean, consistent performance in our kitchens without adding heaviness or competing flavors. This change improves the quality of the ingredients without changing the great flavor you expect.
This transition began the first week of April, 2026. You will see avocado oil as an ingredient in our prepared foods, food bars, bread, and pastries. This change reflects Weaver Street Market’s ongoing commitment to ingredient transparency, responsible sourcing, and high‑quality prepared foods.
Some producer-provided items on our food bars, such as spring rolls, dumplings, and the Naked Empanadas, may still contain canola oil. As independent businesses, our producers manage their own ingredient sourcing.
Our goal remains unchanged—to offer thoughtfully sourced, delicious food our community can trust.
* Seed oils (such as soybean, corn, canola, and sunflower) are criticized primarily for being highly refined, high in omega-6 fatty acids, and prone to oxidation during processing.
