We sell high quality seeds come from Botanical Interests, a family-owned business located in Broomfield, Colorado. The seeds are untreated and GMO-free, and they come in beautiful, informative packets.
Curtis and Judy Jones began Botanical Interests in their spare bedroom in 1995, in order to make available better quality seeds as well as informational tools to help and inspire gardeners. They believed gardeners needed more information from their seed packets. And they realized that the tradition of American families passing their gardening lore, techniques and even secrets from generation to generation was fading. Curtis and Judy wanted to help preserve all that knowledge. They created a unique seed packet filled with facts, tips, and recipes. “At Botanical Interests, we’re helping people reconnect with some of that lost art,” Judy says.
“I like to say that we’re a gardening education company that just happens to sell seeds,” Curtis says. “Our packets are like mini-encyclopedias, full of information to inspire and assist every type of gardener.” Each packet includes an illustration and description, detailed instructions on when and how to start seeds, recipes, growing and harvesting tips, how to avoid diseases and pests, history, and more.
Botanical Interests now has 22 employees and nationwide distribution. They’ve retained their family-owned environment and small business charm. On any given day you are likely to find a playful dog or two running about the halls. “We want our employees to enjoy working here as much as we do,” says Judy. “It’s important that they are happy and take pride in their work, it makes all the difference.”
The seeds have a reputation for high germination rates and are untreated and free of genetic engineering. (Botanical Interests has signed the Safe Seed Pledge against GMO’s.) Many varieties are certified organic.
