Heidi Moore believes food is medicine and that raw, unpasteurized honey is one of the most complete and whole foods there is. Heidi has had the pleasure of sourcing local, North Carolina honey from the same beekeeper for the last 25 years. The process of fostering supportive, nurturing relationships with families such as these, who have been beekeeping responsibly and caringly for more than 50 years, is why she loves her work. Before the honey business, Heidi was a counselor and social worker focusing on helping at-risk and foster children and has always felt passionately called to learning and educating on the inherent connections between overall wellness, what we feed our bodies, and how we interact with our communities and the environment around us. Her mission: To help her community feel a connection with nature through the enjoyment of honey. Their first retail bottles, affectionately labeled Bee-Loved Honey, are currently on the shelves at Weaver Street Markets (as is her maple syrup which has been sourced from the same Central Appalachians maple camp for the last 25 years) and were born out a desire to share not only Heidi’s beautiful honey, but the love of the honeybee, our natural world, and the interconnectedness of our wellbeing and theirs.
