Just Water was created by 10-year-old Jaden Smith who saw a plastic water bottle floating in the ocean. He wanted to do something good and create a positive human impact on the environment. This was the beginning of the Smith family’s obsession to do good.
This brand uses 100% spring water from the Adirondack Mountains. The water is rich in minerals and naturally alkaline. 88% of the materials used to make the Just Water cartons start out as plants (trees for the paper, sugarcane for the cap and shoulder). Because of the plants used, the carton creates up to 74% fewer carbon emissions than similarly sized plastic bottles.
Jaden Smith also created @501cthree with Drew Fitzgerald, which is a non-profit that provides clean water to communities that don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water.
501CThree is a new type of nonprofit for a younger generation focused on energy, food, water, and shelter. They have a Water Box Program that allows them to install Water Boxes which are low-cost portable water filtration systems. The first box they ever installed was in Flint, Michigan, in 2019 where clean water continues to be a problem for Black and Latinx communities. 501cthree has boxes in Newark, New Jersey, and Skidrow in LA, CA which are other major areas that need access to clean water which was more difficult due to Covid-19 restrictions.
