Riojana’s Biodynamic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Riojana is a cooperative of 500 grower families since 1940, from Valle de Famatina, La Rioja, Argentina, with the mission of creating quality products through sustainable methods, connecting cooperatives around the world and helping people. They are pioneers in certified Organic Vineyards and Olive Groves in Argentina, with more than a thousand cultivated hectares. Since 2006 they have been Fairtrade certified and have carried out more than 40 projects for the community, such as the Water Supply in Tilimuqui, a Secondary School where 550 young people study and the civil works of a health center for a rural area of 10,000 people. Riojana shows that the union of cooperatives and fair trade is an important tool for small producers to create a great company and supply the market, offering quality products to the consumer, employing more than 2,000 families and generating economic and social development.
