Round Up for FOOD for ALL Program to increase food security and co-op inclusivity
When you round up for our FOOD for ALL program, you’re part of a community directly supporting neighbors at risk for hunger.
As a community-owned grocery co-op, Weaver Street Market is committed to building a more equitable food system. A key tenet of that commitment is creating an inclusive store where anyone can shop for nutritious, healthful food.
- Our FOOD for ALL program makes shopping at the co-op more accessible for those in the community who are experiencing food insecurity.
- To participate in the FOOD for ALL program, an individual or family member must have an active EBT card, including SNAP, TANF, SUN Bucks, and other assistance programs. As significant as these programs are, the benefits are not enough to address food insecurity.
- Our FOOD for ALL program is a step toward providing nutrition security—which the USDA defines as consistent and equitable access to healthy, safe, and affordable foods that promote optimal health and well-being. [NCDHHS State Action Plan for Nutrition Security 2023-2024]
- Participants benefit from the program in several important ways:
A free owner share. As co-op owners, FOOD for ALL participants receive owner discounts, rewards, and coupons, and they participate in our new owner welcome program.
A 20% discount on their groceries. The discount allows FOOD for ALL participants to extend their EBT benefits and their grocery budgets to purchase more fresh nutritious food, more often.
Greater access to grocery items beyond what EBT covers—including household items, baby products, supplements, and wellness products, as well as food and beverages from our coffee and food bars.
The FOOD for ALL program has the potential to build an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to shop, eat a delicious meal, and gather with friends and family.
