Great appetizer when figs are at their peak! The creamy cheese and crispy bacon round this off nicely and make for a wonderful savory/sweet sensation. This recipe is from our Demo Coordinator, Lisa Woodward, and includes items on sale August 10-16, 2016.
Ingredients:
- 8 figs, cut in half lengthwise – Sale $3.99/8 oz. Save $1.00
- 4 slices Cabot provolone cheese, cut in quarters – Sale $4.99/lb. Save $2.00
- 8 strips of The Pig Carolina bacon, cut in half lengthwise – Sale $5.99/12 oz. Save $1.50
Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
2) Cut a shallow slit in the top of each fig half and tuck a quarter of the provolone slices into the slit.
3) Wrap each fig half with the bacon. Secure bacon with a toothpick.
4) Bake 15 minutes until bacon is browned and crisp. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
