Weaver Street Market seeks proposals for community projects for its 11th Annual Cooperative Community Fund Grant awards. Recipients must be IRS-certified nonprofit organizations. Funded projects focus on
“Access to Healthy Food” (such as Community Agriculture, Hunger Relief, Nutrition and Cooking Education, Healthy Food Environments, Advocacy, Food Waste)
A committee composed of owner volunteers will evaluate the grant proposals and select the recipients. This year the committee has a total of $3800 to disperse in one or more grants. A list of awarded grants and recipients will be published in early July. Recipients will be recognized and awarded checks at WSM’s Annual Meeting on September 11, 2016.
The CCF Grant Committee will host three information sessions to answer questions applicants may have about the grant selection process, including eligibility, evaluation criteria, and proposal requirements. The committee will also guide the organizations through a self-assessment of project ideas. The information sessions are
Tuesday, May 17, 9 to 11 AM, Carrboro WSM
Wednesday, May 25, 9 to 11 AM, Hillsborough WSM
Thursday, June 2, 9 to 11 AM, Southern Village WSM
Applications are due by 10 PM, Sunday, July 17, 2016. Download the brochure and application here.
