Howard Allen’s passion for agriculture started when he was a young child on his family’s homestead in Jamaica before moving to New York and then North Carolina. Faithfull Farms was born in 2013 when Howard began farming for market on his church’s land in Orange County. The farm is comprised of multiple high tunnels where delicate salad greens, herbs, sweet peppers, and even celery are grown for sale at the Carrboro Farmer’s Market year-round. Howard’s vision doesn’t stop there, however. He hopes to help set up small farms all over the state of NC and beyond to create a more sustainable and equitable food system for all people, especially by mentoring young Black farmers. We are thrilled to have a few of Faithfull Farms’ products in our Carrboro and Southern Village stores, including delicious and nutritious muscadine grapes!
