Sylwia in our Marketing Department cooked up some of the halibut steaks that go on sale August 19 ($17.99/lb, regularly $23.99). The simple recipe she followed is below.
Alaskan Halibut is a lean, light-flavored fish with the well-deserved reputation of being the world’s “premium whitefish.” Halibut has a firm texture and snow white flesh. It is often referred to as the “steak of seafood” given its comparable texture and elegance.
Ingredients
- 2 halibut steaks, cut in half
- 4 tablespoons pesto sauce (make it yourself, or find it in our Grab N Go case)
- Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
- 2 limes or lemons
- Wipe the steaks dry with paper towels. Spread the pesto on both sides of each steak and allow them to sit for an hour at room temperature.
- Heat coals or broiler and grill the steaks on both sides until cooked. Remove from heat, season with salt and pepper, and serve garnished with lemon or lime halves.
- Corn, boiled potatoes, and tomato salad go well with this dish.
