Owners, it’s time for the Co-op Fair!
The fair is held at our Food House facility in Hillsborough. It includes a tour of the Food House, where you’ll see how our award winning bread and pies are made, learn about our Weaver Meats program (and taste meatballs!), see a sushi demonstration, and meet the chefs and bakers. Outside on the patio, we’ll have some of our local vendors sampling their goods: enjoy smoothies made with Seal the Seasons fruit and Carolina Farmhouse Dairy yogurt, try The Pig hotdogs or a refreshing Locopop, have a glass of fair trade wine from Argentina paired with Cabot cheeses, or try Fullsteam Brewery’s Cackalacky beer.
Inside out administrative offices, we’ll have displays of Weaver Street’s goals and future plans, and posters of the five candidates running for the Board of Directors. Board members will be on hand to answer questions, and the Board candidates will be circulating in the crowd.
We’re hosting a raffle in partnership with Cabot Creamery to raise money for our Cooperative Community Fund (CCF). Bring cash to enter to win a Cabot cheese gift box; Cabot will match raffle funds up to $1000.
This year’s CCF grant winners—TABLE, PORCH, and the Chapel Hill High School Student Garden—will host an activity to make a fun, healthy snack as well as a seed-planting project.
Kids are welcome. Register for this exciting event now! It’s free, but you must register for a ticket.
