Art:K12 is an exhibition program at our Carrboro store’s cafe that focuses on artwork created by local children and youth. This month’s exhibit contains natural drawings from Elaine Algarra’s classes at East Chapel Hill High School and will be on display through Sunday, January 15.
These works were created by artists in the 9th through 12th grades. Among the assignments represented are three main projects:
- Self portraits in charcoal
- The human figure foreshortened
- Pen and ink tile designs using patterns from nature
The work in this exhibition shows a high level of ability with the selected materials, and a willingness to treat every aspect of the assignments with seriousness and patience.
Stop by our Carrboro cafe anytime to see the ongoing art exhibit.
