Weaver Street Market customers know great food. Our customers and employees have helped us develop a comprehensive and delicious selection of prepared foods. My “labor of love” within my job is the process of collaborating with Weaver folks to create new dishes and improve upon existing recipes. Our own prepared foods staff has developed some of our best creations, particularly on our food bars.
Our Hot Bar
Our hot bar has been feeding the community for decades, and has grown and changed in that time. Over the past three years, our kitchen team worked hard to develop new recipes and tweak old ones. We’ve now picked the “best of the best” recipes so you can enjoy them every day of the week.
Visit any of our stores and you’ll find these customer favorites available all the time: everything from house-smoked NC pork BBQ, baked grit cakes, and southern greens to Indian-style buttered beef, honey apricot chicken, and cilantro rice. Of course, you can always stick with Weaver classics like three cheese mac and cheese or everyone’s favorite, steamed greens with tamari sauce (formerly “Asian greens”). In addition, there are loads of fresh vegetable and grain-based offerings that are well suited to both our vegetarian and vegan customers.
Our Ambrosia Bar
Our ambrosia bar is the newest venture in our food bar family. Our pastry department’s head chef, Keith Rogers, brought the concept to fruition by brainstorming ingredients, testing with staff and with owners at the spring Co-op Fair, and revising with feedback. The ambrosia bar is available all day, and perfect for breakfast or dessert.
The focus was a simple, delicious base of fruits like pineapple grilled in our kitchens and strawberries tossed with basil and lemon, topped with sugar-free “cream” like whipped coconut milk or Cabot Greek yogurt. Top your creation with house-made granola, nuts, or dried fruit. And finish with a sprinkle of artisan salt and a drizzle of the best honey I’ve ever tasted…. Put it all together and it’s magic!
Our Salad Bar and Beyond
Our salad bar has been the mainstay of a fresh and healthy meal out for decades. Come and taste our classic savory salads like Mediterranean lentil salad and spicy Szechuan pasta, in addition to an array of fresh and pickled vegetable offerings. Choose from a wide variety of proteins and some the best dressings around. You can even find some specialty items on the salad bar, like dolmas and marinated gigante beans. Nothing is quite like creating a healthy lunch that’s built on some delicious greens and covered with tasty toppings.
That said, our salad bar is evolving! We’re currently testing some new offerings to add excitement to your salad. My team’s vision is a salad bar that is elevated and curated, to inspire you to create a delicious and healthy meal.
