Last year, we began using a new database (a CRM) to store owner share information. This database is sponsored by the National Cooperative Grocers (NCG), and Weaver Street is the pilot co-op to use it. NCG will make this technology available to grocery co-ops nationwide, who might not be able to afford such technology on their own.
The CRM includes an owner portal, which we’ve dubbed WeaverConnect, that enables owners to activate an account, update their contact information, and set their preferences, such as subscribing to our e-news and owner coupons, or automatically rounding up at the cash register. ClickDimensions is a communication tool that works together with our CRM. When someone subscribes to our e-news, or clicks the link in an email to change their subscriptions, the new information automatically goes into the CRM. Shoppers who are not yet owners are included in the database when they subscribe to the non-owner version of the e-news.
Using ClickDimensions, we plan to add new communications, such as an events e-newsletter.
Benefits to Owners
This new system should make the process of subscribing to owner emails and using the portal smoother for owners. Owners can manage their subscriptions from any e-news we send or from their account in WeaverConnect. They can choose to select which emails they receive.
Primary owners on the share will receive owner communications, including call for board candidates, voting information, and invitations to participate in owner surveys, meetings, and events.
In addition, household members on shares can now subscribe to the owner e-news that contains the weekly coupon. We hope this will make it easier for everyone in the family who shops to take advantage of this benefit of ownership.
There are two ways to subscribe household members on a share:
- On WeaverConnect, add the household member(s) with their name, emails, and subscription preferences.
- Or send us an email at email@example.com with the names and emails, and we’ll set it for you.
Once you’ve added a household member to your account, AND subscribed their email, they can manage their subscriptions from any email they receive from us.
