Each April, we sponsor the popular Piedmont Farm Tour. Well, this September, we’re joining the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) for a SECOND tour of local farms: the Eastern Triangle Farm Tour!
The Eastern Triangle Farm Tour features small family farms located throughout the eastern Triangle in Wake, Durham, Granville, Franklin, and Person counties. There are 25 farms signed on for this year’s tour, which occurs on September 23 and 24 from 1 to 5 PM.
You might recognize some of the farms from the products in our stores: Sarah and Michael’s Farm, where lilies grow in greenhouses; Prodigal Farm, the farmstead goat cheese dairy; Red’s Quality Acre, whose tomatoes are currently in our stores; Carolina Farmhouse Dairy, our local yogurt maker; and way out east, Vollmer Farm, known for their strawberries and also the home of the Pumpkin Jump! There are also new-to-us farms, and they all sound great: Alpaca Dreams, MamaSprings Farm, Hundred Acre Wood Farm & Sanctuary, Ninja Cow Farm, Fat Radish Farm, and more. Visit urban farms like the Raleigh City Farm, the Well Fed Community Garden, and SEEDS. The NCSU Agroecology Education Farm is also on the tour.
Buttons will be available in our stores at the end of August, but you can register online now or sign up to volunteer. Get more information at CFSA’s website.
