‘Tis the Season for a Duo of Fondues! Fondue is the perfect (and quickest) recipe to make for your holiday gathering. So make your holiday sweet (and savory) with these great recipes. These recipes come from our Demo Coordinator, Lisa Woodward.
Holiday Sharp Cheddar Fondue
Ingredients:
- ½ c. Natty Greene’s Buckshot Amber beer
- 1 tsp. garlic, freshly minced
- 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
- 8 oz. Cabot Creamery New York sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
Directions:
1) In a double boiler, slow cooker on low or fondue maker combine beer, garlic and mustard.
2) Meanwhile, in a bowl, toss shredded cheese with flour.
3) When beer mixture is hot, add ½ of the flour coated cheese and whisk quickly, when completely melted add the remaining cheese and continue to whisk until all cheese is melted and sauce is smooth and creamy.
4) Serves 4 to 6. Use bread chunks, vegetables or crispy apples for dipping.
Chocolaty Fondue
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c. Equal Exchange organic hot cocoa
- 1 c. cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 oz. dark chocolate, chopped
Directions:
1) In a double boiler, slow cooker on low or fondue maker combine hot cocoa mix and cream.
2) Stir until hot cocoa is fully dissolved into the cream and mixture is very warm.
3) Remove from heat and add vanilla and chopped chocolate. Continue to stir until chocolate is melted.
4) Serves 4. Use chunks of pound cake or fruit for dipping.
