With uncertainty continuing about SNAP benefits and many families in our community in dire need of food assistance, Weaver Street Market wants to help our shoppers learn more about how they can help.
Donate
Every time you shop at Weaver Street Market, you have the opportunity to Round Up your purchase to support hungry families in need. We use your funds to support our Food for All program, that provides a free owner share and year-round discount to those in need. Rounding Up also funds our additional 20% produce discount from November 5 to December 2 for Food for All participants. Finally, we use the round up funds to make direct donations of $10,000 a month to our Community Food Partners. Our featured partners this quarter are Orange Congregations in Mission, A Place at the Table, and PORCH Chapel Hill-Carrboro.
Volunteer
With the needs of our community increasing, food pantries and local non-profit hunger-relief organizations need more help, so volunteer your time. Weaver Street Market works with a number of Community Food Partners in our area. Check in with these organizations by visiting their websites to learn more about how you can help.

Advocate
With SNAP benefits paused, one of the best things you can do is advocate for your representatives to demand funding for SNAP. We have another blog post with more information about how you can contact your elected officials and a suggested script for what to say.
