Hurricane relief efforts continue for the farmers and communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. For the holiday season, we’re focusing on hurricane relief for farmers and producers recovering from the hurricane. There are several ways you can help these relief efforts:
Purchase our Hope for the Holiday products through December 31st! They include an automatic donation to RAFI’s Hurricane Farmer Relief Fund.
RAFI’s Hurricane Farmer Relief Fund was launched in response to Hurricane Helene to raise disaster funds for farming communities. 100% of the funds go directly to support farmers impacted by the hurricane. RAFI is providing smaller immediate relief funds for emergency needs as well as larger infrastructure rebuilding grants to help farmers recover and rebuild.
- Donate funds to our store cash boxes or make cash donations. These funds also go to RAFI’s Hurricane Farmer Relief Fund.
- Support the GoFundMe campaigns for Hurricane Helene Recovery Support for Happy Dirt Farmers and for Support for Devil’s Foot Staff after Flooding in Asheville.
Weaver Street Market is also supporting hurricane relief efforts for our sister co-ops and their employees. $9,265 from last year’s Hope for the Holiday funds were donated to The Cooperative Development Foundation’s Disaster Recovery Fund. The National Cooperative of Grocers matched our funds, raising the donation to $18,330. This relief fund supports efforts to help cooperatives and their members recover from natural disasters.
