Donating money for food is just one way to help our Community Food Partners. You can also help by donating your time as a volunteer. TABLE and our other food partners all rely on volunteers to carry out the multitude of tasks involved in connecting donated food with recipients. For TABLE, this involves 50 to 60 volunteers each week who sort, bag, and deliver food to the children at their schools, after-school programs, and apartments.
TABLE is particularly in need of volunteers next week! They’ll be making double the food deliveries to cover the week when school is out but summer school and camps are not yet in session. If you are available to volunteer for any of the following shifts, please email Laura at tablenc@gmail.com:
Tuesday, June 9, TABLE building, 205 W. Weaver Street, Carrboro
11 am to 12 pm, bagging shift
2:30 to 4:30 pm, delivery shift (need a car for every two volunteers)
Wednesday, June 10, TABLE building, 205 W. Weaver Street, Carrboro
2 to 4 pm, bagging shift
Thursday, June 11, TABLE building, 205 W. Weaver Street, Carrboro
2:30 to 4:30 pm, delivery shift (need a car for every two volunteers)
The volunteer shifts for the summer will change slightly once Summer TABLE is in operation, the week of June 22. If you’re interested in volunteering this summer, please sign up on TABLE’s website: https://www.tablenc.org/
Weaver Street Market initiated a Volunteer Rewards program to recognize the valuable contributions of volunteers in our community. This month’s Volunteer Rewards raffle will include backpacks and t-shirts donated by KIND. Read more about our Volunteer Rewards here.
