Q: What is your job title?
A: I have personally branded my job title of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator as Chief Culture, Engagement, and Impact Officer. I also serve as the Chair of the Weaver Street Market Board of Directors.
Q: What industry do you work in?
A: My work lies at the intersection of food and community, where I harness the power of food as a catalyst for inclusivity and empowerment. Every day, I strive to bridge the gaps of intersectionality, ensuring everyone has a seat at the table and a voice in shaping our food landscape.
Collaborating closely with the dedicated staff of Weaver Street Market, as well as our invaluable partner organizations and community members, I am deeply engaged in every aspect of the local food system.
Q: How do you advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion in your leadership role?
A: Within my role, I champion a transformative vision: by cultivating inclusive environments rooted in equity, we have the potential to ignite a vibrant tapestry of diversity. I approach every interaction, whether within our co-op walls or beyond, as an opportunity to leverage my leadership role within the co-op to honor diverse perspectives and foster opportunities for all members of our community.

This calls for authenticity from me as I set a bold precedent for unwavering dedication to our shared mission and the communities we serve. Drawing inspiration from the 8 cooperative principles and the legacy of Weaver Street Market, I actively work to expand our gathering spaces into inclusive safe spaces where everyone feels a sense of belonging and can show up as their authentic selves. I believe that together with the community, Weaver Street Market can build bridges and understanding, where every identity thrives as we gather around the table.
