Weaver Street Market’s Board elections ended Sunday. Owners elected a consumer owner and a worker owner to serve on the Board. Congratulations, Alice and Charles!
New terms for the elected directors begin at the January 22nd Board retreat. The Elections Committee, which oversees the election process, presents the following results from this year’s two elections:
Results for Consumer-Owner Election
Consumer owners had a slate of two candidates running for the open consumer-owner seat: Alice Ammerman received 232 votes (86%), and Jae Furman received 38 votes (14%). Winners of WSM elections are by a simple majority.
For the second year, owners could choose between voting online or in the stores. Of the 307 votes cast, 219 ballots (71%) were submitted online. The committee reports that there were 37 invalid ballots cast.
Results for Worker-Owner Election
Charles Traitor ran unopposed on the worker-owner slate. Charles received 40 votes (100%). There were five invalid ballots cast.
