It’s here at last: a local fruit smoothie.
The Cottle family of Cottle Farms in Faison, North Carolina, has been growing blueberries and strawberries for over fifty years. They’ve more recently added 160 acres of muscadine vineyards to the farm. In 2015, they began bottling and selling JuVn8 smoothies, made with fruit grown on their own farm.
JuVn8 smoothies are made with whole fruit, including the skin, the seeds, and the pulp. In addition to adding fiber, the skin and seeds contain additional nutrients which are extracted during the pureeing process. A smoothie is the perfect way to eat fruit!
These smoothies are also different because they contain muscadine grapes. Research has shown that muscadines, which are native to North Carolina, are one of the best sources of nutrients and antioxidants in the world. They have benefits in many areas of health, including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. (Read more in this article from M.D. News.)
The first JuVn8 smoothies are Bursting Blueberry and Strawberry Splash, arriving in stores this week. Try them at 2 for $3. Visit JuVn8 online at http://www.juvn8.com/.
