Last Sunday at the Co-op Fair, visitors had a chance to sample all kinds of delicacies: apple walnut chicken salad, chocolate coconut yogurt cups, freshly made sushi with shrimp and homemade tempura crumbs, salty pretzels with Lusty Monk spicy mustard, apple pie made with local apples, Equal Exchange’s frozen fair trade bananas dipped in chocolate, pickled NC shrimp, fair trade Riojana wines, local Oktoberfest beers, cheeses from Cabot Creamery and Grafton Village, Riojana olive oil with WSM baguette, and Locopops.
The winners of our 2017 CCF grants were present (learn more), as well as representatives from the Latino Community Credit Union and the NC Co-op Council. Visitors could learn about the progress of the Community Food Partnerships and sign up for upcoming volunteer activities. Our board members were on hand, as well as the two candidates running in the 2017 board election.
