Thank you to everyone who made the holiday Round Up! campaign a phenomenal success. The Weaver Street community and anyone participating in one of our food campaigns are “champions of greater good.” The shoppers who said “yes” to Rounding Up 81,921 times are champions of the food banks.
In 35 days, the Weaver Street community raised $43,355 for our two food pantries, the Interfaith Council (IFC) and Orange Congregations in Mission (OCIM). One hundred percent of the donations go for food. Our community food partners absorb no costs; all we ask is that they come to the stores for a few hours during the campaign to talk about their programs and their need for healthy food. Our goal was to raise enough funds with the Round Up! to buy fresh produce for both pantries for the winter months. The response to the campaign was so great that we’ll be able to provide produce into the summer.
The participation of the co-op community has made the food campaigns wildly successful and underscores the value the co-op community places on every one having enough healthy food to eat. In two years, the co-op community has raised $215,579 for our community food partners—IFC, OCIM, TABLE, and PORCH.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
